Three injured in car vs house crash
Three people in a car in Washington County sustained injuries when the they were in crashed into a house.
The crash was reported yesterday around noon on County Highway H near the village of Fillmore.
Prior to the arrival of the Filmore Fire Department and Newburg Ambulance, a member of the Waubeka Fire Department happened to come upon the crash and, recognizing the severity of the injuries, requested Flight for Life helicopter for the most serious injured of the three.
Initial investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office determined that the vehicle was westbound on H occupied by three coworkers when the driver and back seat passenger became involved in a verbal dispute.
As a result, the driver lost control and the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch, became airborne, and struck the house several feet above ground level.
The driver and front passenger sustained minor injuries while the rear passenger suffered serious injuries.
The house, which sustained significant damage, was occupied at the time, but no one inside was injured.
County Highway H was closed for about three and a half hours for crash reconstruction and vehicle removal.
