More than 50,000 vehicles recalled from Hyundai
Hyundai has announced they are recalling more than 50,000 vehicles due to a fire risk.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Hyundai’s recall affects 51,587 Hyundai Tucson models between 2022-25 because a defect in the trailer wiring harness could pose a fire risk.
The affected vehicles were produced between February 8, 2021, and August 21, 2024.
The defect affects the optional original equipment manufacturer trailer wiring harness accessory. Hyundai said the harness may have been installed in a location where it could be exposed to water, and the trailer wiring harness control module may have had insufficient sealing.
Hyundai said it will contact owners directly by mail with more information.
