City of Fond du Lac asks residents to keep an eye out for blocked storm sewer grates

The City of Fond du Lac Department of Public works is asking for the public’s assistance to prevent localized flooding throughout the city.

After a historic winter weather system earlier this week, there is a potential that many of the storm water inlets throughout the city may be covered by snow.

Looking ahead into the weekend, National Weather Service is forecasting above average temperatures, potentially causing rapid snow melt and possibly leading to localized flooding on city streets.

The department is asking the public to assist in identifying these areas in neighborhoods and remove snow from around these inlets that may cause blockages.

City Staff say they will also be doing their part in trying clear blocked inlets but unfortunately, they cannot guarantee they will be able to respond to a location immediately as they may be addressing other locations.
