Wells Vehicle Electronics announces planned wind-down of OE Electronics Manufacturing operations

A Fond du Lac business announced yesterday that it would be closing down part of it’s operations in Fond du Lac.

Wells Vehicle Electronics stated following a broader business review, it’s parent company, Niterra, has decided to pursue the sale of a portion of the Wells Vehicle Electronics business.

In connection with that process, Wells currently anticipates an eventual wind-down of the Engineered Products and Original Equipment electronics manufacturing operations at its Fond du Lac facility and its supporting warehouse facility.

They say this action is limited to manufacturing operations and support that serve the Original Equipment division of the Wells business only. It does not impact the remaining parts of the Wells business, which will continue to operate as usual in Fond du Lac.

At this time, Wells expects Original Equipment manufacturing to be discontinued around the end of March of 2027; however, timing remains subject to change as the review and sale process progresses.

Wells says, while the company, based in Fond du Lac, is not closing. The impact of this division closing is expected to affect approximately 100 valued employees. The company says they are committed to supporting those impacted, and will actively work to place these employees in other positions within Wells wherever possible.
