SSM Health to host car seat inspections in Fond du Lac and Waupun

SSM Health along with community partners in Fond du Lac and Waupun, will hold a car seat inspection event in each city, to allow parents to ensure they have a properly sized car seat for their child, and make sure its installed correctly.

SSM Health says four out of five car seats are not used or installed correctly. Because of this, they will have a certified technician on hand at these events to ensure a new or existing car seat is safe and properly installed, and answer questions about making transitions between car seats, booster seats, and regular seat belts.

In Fond du Lac, the event will take place Tuesday, May 5 from 4 – 7 pm at the Fond du Lac Fire Department Station 1, located at 815 S. Main Street.

In Waupun, it will be Tuesday, May 19 from 10 am to noon at the Waupun Public Library, at 123 S. Forest Street.

Interested parents are asked to bring their child, car seat, car seat instructions, and vehicle owner’s manual to the event.

SSM Health says free car seats are available for eligible families facing financial barriers.
