BREAKING NEWS: Oakfield High School evacuated for strange odor

Shortly after 9:30 a.m., a school rescource officer at the Oakfield High/Middle School said a strange odor was coming from the school and the school was being evacuated.

The Fond du Lac County Communuication Center dispatched the Oakfield, Waupun and Lamartine Fire Departments as well as Lifestar EMS and Oakfield First Responders to the scene.

The area around the school is blocked off and parents are being instructed to NOT go to the school or to call the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office for information.

At 10 a.m. the school district put this statement out ion their Facebook page.

“This morning at approximately 9:40 AM there was a smell of smoke in the middle and high school building. It was determined to evacuate the students and staff so the fire department could properly search the building.

We will share more info when we know more

Parents please do NOT call 911 dispatch!!”

The Oakfield Fire Department has requested Alliant Gas and Electric units to the scene.
