July 4th/250th Birthday festivities starting this weekend
Final preparations are being put in place for a couple independence day themed celebrations in the area.
First will be the America 250 parade to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The parade will take place on Saturday June 27th, and will run along main Street from Rees to 2nd street like most parades in the city, however this one is likely going to be one of the biggest parades the city has ever seen. Over 100 parade entries are already confirmed as well as several school marching bands and the Fond du Lac County Tractor Brigade.
Many local businesses are getting involved with window displays while Hoppers Screen Printing has a limited edition t-shirt to go along with the event.

Parade participants will begin lining up in the Fives–Giddings & Lewis parking lot on Doty Street with the parade starting at 1 pm.
Then the following weekend, the City of Fond du Lac is saying the largest fireworks display ever put on in the city will take place. The fireworks display will start in Lakeside Park around 9:30 pm, with festivities in the park, including the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band performance, starting at 7:30.
And if you didn’t get enough parade on the 27th, the Village of Campbellsport will have their annual 4th of July parade starting at noon on the 4th.
