Bystanders pull woman from burning vehicle after crash
Bystanders are being credited for saving a woman’s life in Fond du Lac County Saturday morning, October 3, 2026, after her vehicle struck a tree and started on fire.
Around 8:49 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received reports of a single vehicle crash on Highway 45 near Reinhardt Road just southeast of the City of Fond du Lac.
While on the phone with someone on the scene, dispatchers and responding units learned that the vehicle was on fire and that other people that had stopped to assist had pulled the woman out of the burning vehicle.
Upon arrival, first responders found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue while Eden Fire Department tended to the fire.
No other information is known about the crash.
