Two injured, one with stab wounds, after father goes after son with hammer

Fond du Lac Police are investigating a domestic disturbance that occurred overnight, Monday, October 5, 2026, sending both people involved to the hospital, one in serious condition with multiple stab wounds.

Around 2 a.m., The Fond du Lac County Communication Center received a call saying the two were now separated, but not before a father reportedly went after a son with a hammer. The caller says the son defended himself with a knife, stabbing the father.

The incident occurred near the center of the city on 1st Street.

Units on scene requested an ambulance for each, with the father eventually being med flighted to an area level one trauma center with at least four stab wounds.
