Fatal crash reported in Dodge County

A 77-year-old Jefferson man is dead following a crash involving a semi and an SUV in Dodge County.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened Thursday morning, October 8, 2026, at the intersection of State Highway 16-60 and County Highway BB in the Town of Elba.

Investigators say the semi was traveling south on County Highway BB when it failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the westbound SUV. The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 28-year-old Waterloo man driving the semi was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

While deputies were investigating, a second crash occurred nearby when a motorist struck a sheriff’s office community service officer and their emergency-lit vehicle at Highway 16-60 and County Highway T. The officer was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.

That second crash is being investigated by Wisconsin State Patrol. Both investigations remain ongoing.
