City of Fond du Lac Drug Take Back event is scheduled for Wednesday

The Fond du Lac Police Department is partnering with Drug Free Communities to give residents an opportunity to safely dispose of unused or expired medications.

The Drug Take Back event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The Center, located at 151 East First Street.

Residents can bring prescription and over-the-counter medications in a variety of forms, including pills, liquids, creams, inhalers and patches. Vape pens and electronic cigarette devices may also be accepted if their batteries can be safely removed. Batteries must be removed before disposal.

Syringes and sharps, illegal drugs and several other hazardous or restricted items will not be accepted.

Police say properly disposing of medications can help prevent accidental use and misuse, while keeping potentially dangerous substances out of the wrong hands.
