Minor R. Pruss
Minor
Richard Prus, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018 at The Woodlands
in Fond du Lac after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born to
Mina and Katherine Babich Prus on March 1, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI. Minor was
united in marriage to Constance Commo on May 20, 1976. She preceded him in
death May 10, 1994.
Minor served
in the U.S. Army Airborne Division from March 1965 to March 1967. Minor worked
as a machinist at Mercury Marine for 41 years, retiring in 2008. He developed
many lifelong friendships during his time at Mercury.
Minor
enjoyed trap shooting, baseball and blues music. Ultimately, his favorite thing
to do was spend time with his grandchildren.
Minor is
survived by his children Anthony “Tony” (Teresa) Prus, Christina (Jason)
Schuette and Andrea (Richard “Rich”) McMurry; grandchildren Gregory and Natalie
Prus and Carly, Conner and Baby Schuette. He is further survived by his sister
Susan “Sue” (Gary) Schmitt, his brother Daniel “Dan” Prus, other relatives and
many friends.
He was
preceded in death by his wife, Connie, his brother, Gregory in 2007 and his
parents.
Visitation:
Minor’s family welcomes relatives and friends for a time of visitation at
Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Saturday, March 17,
2018 from 10:00 to 11:45 AM.
Service: A
memorial service with military honors will be celebrated on Saturday at the
funeral home following visitation at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Charles
Cemetery in the Spring.
The family
extends their sincere appreciation to Agnesian Hospice, Dr. Kumar, Agnesian
Cancer Center and the staff at the Woodlands, especially Nikki.
