Richard C. Kunz
Richard C. Kunz, age 76, of Marytown, died at his residence on August 9, 2019. He was born November 8, 1942, son of Benjamin and Dorothy Kunz. On April 25, 1970, he married Grace Venable at Messiah Lutheran Church in Twin Lakes, WI, where they were longtime members, and together they had three children.
Richard was a carpenter most of his life and an avid woodworker in his spare time, even making toys for his grandchildren. He was fascinated by radio-controlled model airplanes and they led him to a passion for model ships. As a young man, he raised birds, from crows to hawks, and even hunted for their food. He enjoyed horseback riding, motorcycles, reading, and the Green Bay Packers. Above all else, he loved his family and worked hard to be a good provider for them.
Richard is survived by his wife, Grace; his daughters: Jane (Kevin) Schmitz, Sara (Cort) Shane, and Genevieve Kunz; grandchildren: Amber Schmitz, Kylie Shane, Lauren Shane, Wyatt Schmitz, Cort Shane, Jr., and Emily Aker; siblings: Arlene (Frank) Lux and William (Paula) Kunz; and sisters-in-law: Lynn (James) Rohde, Janice (Dennis Johnson) Venable, and Patricia (Jude) Tindall. Richard will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Dorothy; and his brothers: Ronald Kunz and Gary Kunz.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the funeral home on the day of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Richard Kunz.
