Choy Sentenced In Mother’s Day Fire

She told the court she simply was upset with the father of her children. So she set his garage on fire. That’s the story Cassandra Choy stuck to, and now she’s been convicted of three counts of criminal damage and will be placed on probation for 3 years for that fire. 

The 27-year old Choy has 2 children with Hugo Esparza, and the two were in the middle of an argument back in May of 2019, when Choy left. Choy reportedly called Esparza to let him know she set the garage on fire, later denying the statement. But then did admit to setting a box on fire in that garage. While there was additional damage to other units, there were no injuries.
