FDL Man Sentenced to Probation for Role in Stolen Vehicle Case

An 18-year-old man from Fond du Lac was placed on probation
Wednesday for his role in stealing a vehicle from Beaver Dam in September after
driving another stolen vehicle into Beaver Dam Lake.

Tyler Rodgers pleaded guilty in Dodge County Court to a
charge of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. Dodge County Judge
Steven Bauer placed Rogers on two years of probation and ordered him to pay over
$2,300 in restitution along with court costs. Rodgers’ record may be expunged
upon successful completion of probation.

17-year-old Kaden Solano of North Fond du Lac is also
charged in the case. He faces a felony charge of driving or operating a vehicle
without the owner’s consent, and a felony count of attempting to flee or elude
an officer. He is also charged with misdemeanor bail jumping.

Police in Waupun pulled over a pickup truck September 7th
after getting a report it had been stolen the morning of September 6th
from Beaver Dam. Everyone inside the truck had ran from the scene, but police
eventually caught up with them – including Rodgers and Solano. Both suspects
eventually admitted to stealing the truck and a Ford Escape that was taken from
Fond du Lac and found in Beaver Dam Lake the morning on September 6th.

Court records say Solano has a telephone scheduling
conference set for January 17th.
