All three city teams will be playing tonight in Level
2 of the WIAA State Football Playoffs and all three teams will be facing
conference champs.  Fond du Lac will make the trip to Big 8
champion Middleton tonight in Division One. 
That’s a game you’ll hear on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins tonight at 6:30pm with the
kickoff at 7pm.  In Division Five,
Winnebago Lutheran travels to Metro Classic champion Racine St. Catherine’s.  If you can’t make the trip to Racine you can listen to
that game online at wrjn.com.   In
Division Six, St. Mary’s Springs hosts
Olympian-Packerland Small champion Algoma. 
You can hear that game tonight on K107.1 presented by BCI Burke
Company.  Nick Van Nocker will have the
call at 6:30pm.  Preview all three of
those games and also the playoffs across the state at 5:30pm tonight during the
Tim Cruz Agency American Family Insurance Kickoff Show.

 

You can still buy tickets in
advance of Fondy’s playoff game at Middleton tonight if you stop by the high
school’s  Main Office today from 7am to Noon.  You will also be able to buy them at the gate
when you get to Middleton if you choose. 
They are $4 for adults and students and $1 for kids six and under.

 

Fond du Lac senior offensive lineman Peter Andrew is a finalist
for the wissports.net
Joe Thomas Award
which is given annually to the state’s top senior
offensive lineman.  Andrew, the two-time
VFA-South Offensive Lineman of the Year is among six finalists for the
award. 

 

Fond du Lac senior defensive lineman Robert Windsor is also a
finalist for the wissports.net
Tim Krumrie Award
which is given annually to the state’s to senior
defensive lineman.  Windsor
has been offered scholarships by Illinois and North Dakota State and was the FVA-South Co-Defensive
Player of the Year.

42nd WIAA State Cross Country Meet is Saturday in Wisconsin RapidsFond

junior Annie Moore and freshman Ally Gietzel
have qualified for the Division One Girls Meet as individuals.  In Division Two, the Waupun boys team has qualified.  In Division Two Girls, Chilton senior Kayla
Giese, Waupun junior Hannah Smith, and Lomira junior Kaytlin Kuczkowski have
all made it to the meet as individuals. 
In Division Three, St. Mary’s Springs senor Andrew Skiff and Laconia sophomore Alec Potter
have made the boys field.  In Division
Three Girls, the St. Mary’s Springs team has made it, as has Laconia senior Hailey Isaac.

for a matchup with Rutgers on Saturday..  Coverage begins at 9am with the kickoff at

Reports say that the Brewers have exercised their $13
million dollar option on Yovani Gallardo for the 2015 season.  Five players have reportedly filed for free
agency.  Relievers Francisco Rodriguez,
Tom Gorzelanny, and Zach Duke and 1st basemen Mark Reynolds and Lyle Overbay.  Overbay is expected to retire.  The rest can sign with any other team.
