Thelma To Host Virtual Telethon

Thelma Sadoff Center of the Arts (THELMA) announced it will hold a virtual telethon October 30 in place of the annual Windy Dinner THELMA Style. The prestigious evening that has been a staple in our community for last 20 years had to be revamped due to COVID-19 and the concern over indoor gatherings.

“While we are saddened that we cannot hold the traditional and always fun event, we promise the telethon is going to be a great time with some surprises,” said Jacqui Corsi, THELMA’s Executive Director.

The telethon is free to attend and open to all. We are not limited by room capacity. Signing up is free at onecau.se/Thelma. THELMA will be working with local restaurants to provide curbside pickup as well as the event’s customary caterer Shully’s to offer a special meal for attendees. Details will be released soon. Participants are encouraged to bring their meal and beverages home and tune into the telethon at 7 pm. Also, attendees may consider hosting watch parties with friends and family.

“If we cannot gather in person, please gather online,” Corsi said.

The evening includes live music with Eva and the Swizzle Sticks, an auction, plus a mix of live action and pre-recorded videos with some of THELMA’s favorite artists, sponsors and supporters including a performance by a special guest star. “This fundraising event may look different this year, but the need for support is greater than ever,” Corsi said.

After losing nearly 80% of revenue this year due to the pandemic, THELMA hopes to raise $120,000. Consider donating now and/or participating in the event by logging in at onecau.se/Thelma at 7 pm, October 30.
