FDL Police Investigating Early Friday Morning Shooting

Fond du Lac Police are investigating a shooting that happened in in the early morning hours on Friday.

According to a press release, officers were called around 2 AM to the area of South Marr Street at Sheboygan Street for what was first reported as a single-vehicle crash. Officers arriving on the scene found a vehicle with “substantial damage” that had hit a light pole and several parking meters.

Officers found the driver of the vehicle – identified as 39-year-old Fond du Lac man – unresponsive, but breathing. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where it was discovered he had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was then flown by helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah for treatment.

Investigators are canvassing the neighborhood where the crash happened, and is looking for anyone who may have information on this incident.
