After prolonged cold spell, above normal temperatures on the way

Starting Monday, February 9, 2026, the forecasted high temperature looks to get up to 37 degrees. The first time we’ll be above freezing since January 13th when we hit a high of 50 degrees. At that time, a cold front through, knocking us to below freezing levels of which we never recovered from.

While 26 days below the freezing mark sounds significant, its far from the record set in 1978 when we went 46 days below freezing in January and February of that year.

Forecast models show the high temperatures reaching to or above the freezing point for much of next week, with long range models hinting at highs around 50 by the 18th of this month.

The average high temperature for this week in Fond du Lac is 27 degrees.
