Applications open to take part in Fond du Lac Police Citizen’s Academy

The Fond du Lac Police Department has announced they are again running their Citizens Academy, and they’re inviting members of our community to get a behind-the-scenes look at modern policing.

The Citizens Academy will run April 14th through May 19th, meeting every Tuesday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

During the six-week program, participants will learn about the day-to-day work of Officers and experience hands-on demonstrations of the skills and tools used in law enforcement.

Throughout the academy, participants will have the opportunity to:
✅ Meet and interact with Fond du Lac Police Officers
✅ Learn about Defense & Arrest Tactics
✅ See how Officers investigate and apprehend impaired drivers
✅ Explore different units and responsibilities within the department
✅ and Get an inside look at the challenges and rewards of policing

They say the program is designed for community members who want to better understand how the Fond du Lac Police Department serves and protects the city every day.
Those wishing to participate can visit the website fdlpolice.com or follow the link on the department’s Facebook page to complete an application.

The department says

  • Applicants must pass a background check, and that
  • Space is limited, and the academy usually fills up quickly.
