Bartender shot overnight in Oshkosh bar

One person was taken into custody after a brief standoff in Oshkosh overnight Friday, April 18, 2025, after a bartender at the bar Oblio’s on north Main Street was shot in the neck.
At 1:49 AM Oshkosh Police as well as Oshkosh Rescue were sent to the bar at 434 north Main Street for the report of the shooting.
Once on the scene police found at least one victim in the back of the bar with a gunshot wound to the neck. It was determined that the man who shot the gun was originally in the bar but was pushed out. That’s reportedly when he fired a gun through a window into the bar, striking the bartender.
The man then fled northbound, where police started searching for him.
Witnesses on the scene were able to give police the name of the suspect who lived nearby at a Mt. Vernon street address. Police concentrated their search in the area of the man’s house and that’s where they found a person matching the description of the suspect.
The man wasn’t obeying police commands and a taser was deployed which was said to be ineffective. Police continued to hold the man at gunpoint but he kept walking away from them.
Two more ineffective taser deployments were administered before police were finally able to take the man into custody. It was not confirmed that this was the man involved in the shooting.
The shooting victim was taken to ThedaCare Medical Complex in Neenah. Their condition is not known.
This is a developing story and KFIZ will update as more details are released.
