Beaver Dam food processing facility closing down

Food manufacturer Conagra is shutting down its facility in Beaver Dam, leading to hundreds of job losses.

According to a letter the company sent to the Department of Workforce Development on Monday, all 252 employees at the Conagra Birds Eye facility are affected. The company stated that the layoffs will run in phases, starting on June 10 and ending on Jan. 3, 2025.

Conagra plans to stop production at the Beaver Dam facility, located at 1201 Green Valley Road, on June 10. Warehouse operations will stop by Jan. 3, 2025.

Conagra indicated in the letter that it was closing the plant to improve efficiencies and effectiveness in its other locations saying We have determined that we can continue to meet the needs of the business by making these products in fewer facilities.

Conagra is headquartered in Chicago and has over 18,000 employees at 42 different locations.
