Community Support Provides Emergency Safety Books for Families

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management and the Fond du Lac County Health Department are pleased to announce the completion of a community‑supported emergency preparedness project made possible through Community Safety Net.

Through their fundraising efforts, Community Safety Net engaged local donors to support the distribution of their Emergency Safety Book—an award‑winning resource designed to help families prepare for and respond to emergencies.

These books provide families with practical guidance on medical and weather emergencies, how to shut off home utilities, and how to build a 72‑hour emergency kit—including considerations for pets. The resource also includes a section for parents to help prepare children for emergencies in age‑appropriate ways.

Community donors included Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400, Van Ert Electric Co. Inc., BCI Burke Company, Fond du Lac Natural Stone, SSM Health, Behnke Insurance Agencies Inc., Holiday Automotive,
Pickarts Radiator, and Capelle Bros & Diedrich Inc.

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management and the Health Department extend sincere appreciation to these organizations for supporting the safety and preparedness of families across the county.

The books will be distributed at a variety of community outreach events throughout 2027.
