Destination Lake Winnebago Region and Waupun part ways

Destination Lake Winnebago Region is ending its decade-long role as Waupun’s official tourism entity.

The organization says its agreement with the city will conclude August 31st, as Waupun establishes its own tourism entity to focus specifically on promoting the community.

Destination Lake Winnebago Region has served as the official visitors bureau for both Fond du Lac and Waupun for the past ten years, promoting shopping, dining, attractions and outdoor activities.

Destination Lake Winnebago Region President and CEO Craig Molitor says the partnership has been a success, and the organization is supportive of Waupun’s decision to chart its own course.

Destination Lake Winnebago Region will now put more of its resources into promoting Fond du Lac and communities along the east side of Lake Winnebago, with plans for expanded digital marketing and a greater emphasis on local shopping, dining and businesses.
