Driver still at large after driving 175 mph, eluding law enforcement in multiple counties
Multiple County law enforcements are on the lookout for a driver that sped through several counties last night at speeds over 170 mph.
The first known sighting occurred at 11:07 when a Wisconsin State Trooper stated he saw a Dodge Charger speed by him at 160 mph. Due to the speeds, the trooper chose not to chase, rather he gave the information out to other area officers.
Throughout the night, it appeared the same driver and vehicle passed through other counties doing the same thing. Both Dodge and Manitowoc Counties had the Charger in a brief pursuit, and Sheboygan County had information that the driver was known to have suicide by cop ideations.
Then around 2 a.m. a Fort Atkinson officer travelling through the area told Fond du Lac County Communications Center dispatchers that he just clocked a charger northbound on 151 from Waupun at 143 mph.
Minutes later a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy saw the vehicle north on 41 from Scott Street. A North Fond du Lac Officer also saw the vehicle, clocking it at 175 mph. The deputy attempted to catch up and into Winnebago County, saw the vehicle crash near Highway 26.
At that time the driver got out and started running. Multiple officers responded including a K9, which started tracking the suspect, but the man was unable to be found. He was described as a black male with a red shirt and pajama pants.
A large amount of cash and marijuana was located in the vehicle.
