Dual ribbon cutting ceremony set for Fond du Lac City park playgrounds

Two parks in the City of Fond du Lac will hold ribbon cuttings next week to debut new playground equipment installed at them.

The public is welcome to attend these ribbon cuttings which will take place On Tuesday, June 17th, 2025.

The events kick off at Buttermilk Creek Park at 10 am, then head over to Russell Park for a second ribbon cutting. The new Buttermilk Creek Park playground is a collaborative project between the City of Fond du Lac and Burke Playground Equipment. This inclusive playground features wheelchair access, a rubberized surface and play pieces designed for ages 2 to 15.

The new Russell Park playground is full of baseball-themed fun, including play structures! The idea for a playground at Russell Park came from local citizens and was championed by Park Watch, a local park advocacy group, after they observed a need for a play area for young children in that neighborhood.
