EAA Aviation Museum brings back ScaleVenture
After a long hiatus, the EAA Aviation Museum is bringing back the ScaleVenture scale model showcase on Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature displays from many different builders covering the entire aviation timeline. It will include a special edition of the museum’s monthly Speaker Series featuring former F-14 Tomcat pilot Meagan Flannigan.
Throughout the museum, scale model builders will have tables set up displaying their best work. Visitors can see their designs up close while also admiring the full-size aircraft throughout the museum. EAA staff will be judging models on display for awards to be presented later in the day. Participants and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase models at the swap meet throughout the museum as well as from the EAA Barnstormer Boutique in the museum lobby.
Keeping with the F-14 Tomcat theme for ScaleVenture, former F-14 pilot Meagan Flannigan will speak as part of a special edition of the Museum’s Speaker Series at 4 p.m. in the Education Center. Flannigan will lead a discussion and Q&A session about the aircraft made famous by movies such as Top Gun.
ScaleVenture is included with museum admission with EAA Members being admitted for free. ScaleVenture is supported by Alro Steel, Capital Credit Union, Community First Credit Union, Cozumel Mexican Grill, Kwik Trip, Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists, Pilotsmith, Sargento, and The Taqueria.
