Early Spring storm brings deadly tornadoes to Michigan and Oklahoma, and moderate rainfall to Fond du Lac

Just over an inch of rain fell overnight Friday into Saturday, March, 7, 2026, as a strong low pressure storm system passed over the area.

Southerly winds out ahead of the low pressure pulled warm air up from the south, resulting in high temperatures 20 degrees above normal, however a cold front passing through Saturday morning on the backside of the low will drop temperatures down to the low 30s by Sunday morning.

This storm system got the tornado season off to a deadly start as multiple deaths were reported in two separate tornadoes related to the system. The first tore through lower Michigan while the second touched down in northeast Oklahoma, just barely missing the city of Tulsa.

We should dry out and warm back up into the 60s Sunday and Monday ahead of the next storm system Tuesday night into Wednesday.
