Events planned to remember local 18-year-old killed in crash last summer

Friends and family members of an 18-year-old Campbellsport man killed in a motorcycle crash last summer are looking to keep his memory alive by hosting some events this year.

Sawyer Dirmeier was killed in a crash when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pick-up truck on June 24, of 2025 at the intersection of County Road V and Auburn Ashford Drive in southeast Fond du Lac County.

Now his friends and family are planning two events to honor Sawyer.

The first will be a classic and custom car and motorcycle show that will take place Saturday, June 13, at the Boltonville Fire Department. Organizers are looking for participants to enter their vehicles in the event.

The second event will be a 5K run & walk on Saturday, June 27. This event will start at Campbellsport Elementary School and use the Campbellsport Cougars Cross Country course which also passes by a memorial bench set up in Sawyers memory.

Proceeds from both events will go towards a scholarship in Sawyers name, which will be awarded to Campbellsport High School graduates.
