Fall colors approaching peak in Fond du Lac County

According to the Travel Wisconsin Fall Leaf Color map, Fond du Lac County is at about 65% color with peak color expected to take place before the end of October.

Some trees like birch, poplar, and ash, had already turned color and a couple of high wind events have stripped those trees mostly bare, while species like oaks and hickories typically hold onto their green and turn much later in the season.

According to the Travel Wisconsin map, surrounding counties like Green Lake, Manitowoc and Outagamie County are at or nearing peak with counties north of Green Bay past peak.
