Fire Damages FDL Home

Fire displaced a family living at 38 North Hickory Street in Fond du Lac last night. Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says they got a call about a house fire at that address at 7:38 Wednesday evening. There were heavy fire conditions on the first floor front room when firefighters arrived. The family had already gotten out of the single family home safely. The blaze spread to the basement and attic. Chief O’Leary says there was extensive smoke and heat damage in much of the rest of the home. The cause of the fire is still being determined. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting the family. Firefighters will canvass the surrounding neighborhood today passing out fire safety information.
