Fire Prevention Week brings fire department open house at fairgrounds
Local fire departments will be coming together Tuesday for a Fire Prevention Week open house at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds.
Fond du Lac Fire Rescue and area departments will host the free event from 4 to 7 Tuesday afternoon at the fairgrounds on Fond du Lac Avenue.
The open house will give families a chance to meet firefighters, tour fire apparatus and learn about fire and life safety.
There will also be demonstrations, displays, local vendors and other activities.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign is focused on safe charging practices, under the theme “Charge into Fire Safety.”
Fire officials say the open house is an opportunity for residents to interact with firefighters outside of an emergency and take home information that can help prevent fires.
The event is Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. It’s free and open to the public.
