Fire starts on roof of downtown Fond du Lac business

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and City of Fond du Lac Police responded to several reports of a fire on the roof above Electric Tanning at 107 south Main Street in Fond du Lac on Saturday night, July 4, 2026.

Upon arrival of fire units, it appeared members of the public had accessed the roof with water and possibly a fire extinguisher and got most of the fire out. Fond du Lac Fire used their ladder truck to access the roof and finish extinguishing the fire.

It’s unknown at this time what caused the fire. KFIZ expects a press release Saturday night which should shed more light on the situation.
