Fleeing suspect killed after crashing during high speed chase

A police pursuit Sunday night, March 2, 2025, that started in Iowa County, ended just into Dane County when the suspect vehicle crashed, killing the driver.

At about 6:20 p.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper attempted to stop a driver for a traffic infraction on Highway 151 northbound, near mile marker 52 in Iowa County. The driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit, with a deputy from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office joining the pursuit shortly after it began.

The pursuit ended when the subject crashed near mile marker 65 in the Town of Blue Mounds, with the vehicle rolling over and coming to rest on it’s roof. EMS responded, but the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation is conducting the investigation as this is being considered an officer involved death.
