Fond du Lac Area Bird & Nature Alliance has announces June walks
The Fond du Lac Area Bird & Nature Alliance has announced four group walks planned for Tuesdays in June, 2026.
June 2 will be at the Julie Fitzpatrick Farm at N5849 Hillcrest Road. The farm, located just west of Fond du Lac, has prairie restoration and management for grassland birds and pollinators. Also on site will be a herd of sheep and baby lambs. Attendees can see a demonstration of Fitzpatrick’s border collies herding the sheep.
June 9 will be at Shaginappi County Park at W3220 Velvet Beach Road north of Pipe.
June 16 will be at the Heckrodt Wetlands Reserve at 1305 Plank Road in Menasha. There, explorers will walk some of the three miles of trails through the 91 acres featuring forested wetland, prairie meadow, and shoreline cattail marsh. If raining, the walk will take place the following Tuesday.
And the June 30 walk will be at Greenway Arboretum in Fond du Lac. There attendees can venture the over two miles of nature trails along the Fond du Lac River on 24.5 acres in town. Those attending will meet at the west side of the parking lot at the Pick’n Save store at 55 West Pioneer Road.
All walks begin at 6:30 p.m. The group advises to wear good walking shoes, bring insect repellent, and binoculars if available. The walks will last an hour to an hour and a half and will be canceled if raining.
