Fond du Lac Boys Top Neenah Plus Area Scores

The Fond du Lac Boys Basketball team entered tonight’s Fox Valley Association matchup in tied with Neenah with the same conference record. The winner would remain in the race for the FVA with the losing team falling towards the back of the pack. Fond du Lac trying to venge a loss earlier in the season to the Rockets came out firing on all cylinders both offensively and defensively. Ryker Johnson with a big first half for Fond du Lac who went into the locker room with a commanding lead. In the second half that lead grew to 19 points for the Cardinals before Neenah went on a 14-0 run. That run eventually led to Neenah cutting the lead to 1 point which could’ve been tied but a lane violation was called on the Rockets after a made free throw. The Cardinals were able to with stand the surge by Neenah coming away with a 69-61 victory. Rocky Barfknecht led the Cardinals in scoring with 16 points. Next up for Fond du Lac a road game at Hortonville on Friday night.

The FDL Cardinals hosted West Bend in a sectional matchup and the Cardinals had a slow start. West Bend scored 3 goals in the first period to take a 3-0 lead before the Cardinals responded with two goals from Eli Stewart and Drake Deanovich. The Cardinals Caden Umentum scored again in the 2nd period to draw the game even after 2 periods. The comeback was not meant to be as West Bend scored a third period goal and held on.
