Fond du Lac Cardinals Swim Team to do Lake Winnebago Challenge

The Fond du Lac Cardinal girls swim team is taking on a big team-building challenge Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

15 swimmers will attempt to swim the equivalent of the entire length of Lake Winnebago, a nearly 28 mile distance, during one swim practice.

The team says that’s the equivalent of 979 laps.

The challenge is also a fundraiser for the Fond du Lac Cardinals Booster Club, with a goal of raising five-thousand dollars.

The money will help provide team-building opportunities, equipment, apparel and other activities for the swimmers.

The team says every lap, pledge and bit of community support will help as the 15 girls take on what they’re calling the Lake Winnebago Challenge.

According to a flyer, people can support a swimmer with a pledge, or make a donation through Venmo at @FondyCardinalsSwim. Checks can also be made payable to the Fond du Lac Cardinals Swim Booster Club.
