Fond du Lac County law enforcement to participate in holiday Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office will be joining as many as 30 other jurisdictions around the state in participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday campaign.

The campaign started Wednesday, December 11, 2024, and runs through New Year’s Day.

The national campaign focuses on preventing tragedies during the holiday season by stepping up law enforcement patrols to get impaired drivers off the roads.

During the last holiday season, there were nearly 400 crashes across the state that involved an impaired driver. Five of those crashes resulting in six injuries occurred right here in Fond du Lac County.

Last year in Wisconsin, there were nearly 6,000 alcohol-related crashes that killed 159 people. Alcohol contributed to more than a quarter of all traffic fatalities.
