Fond du Lac County man taken into custody after firing gun overnight

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to A County Highway V address, south of Campbellsport overnight, Sunday, September 20, 2026, after getting a call that a man there was arguing with people and pointed a gun at other subjects in the house.

As deputies were headed to the scene, the caller also stated the man had fired the gun out windows of the house to the outside.

Due to the immediate danger to others in the house, once on scene, deputies as well as a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper surrounded the house and quickly devised a plan to enter the residence which was done, and the male was taken into custody without incident.

He was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail where he is being held on charges of two counts each of negligent handling of a weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, second degree recklessly endangering safety and one count of pointing a firearm at another.
