Fond du Lac County Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s
More than 800 people took part in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Fond du Lac County, helping raise significantly more money than organizers had originally hoped.
The event surpassed its 162-thousand-dollar fundraising goal, and organizers now expect to raise about 180-thousand dollars by the end of the year.
The money will support Alzheimer’s education, care and support services, advocacy efforts and the Alzheimer’s Association’s 24-hour helpline.
The Alzheimer’s Association says more than 2,600 people age 65 and older in Fond du Lac County are living with dementia, with that number expected to rise to more than 2,800 by 2030.
Donations to the Fond du Lac walk will be accepted through December 31st.
The Alzheimer’s Association encourages continued support, as donations can still be made to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s through December 31 at act.alz.org/fonddulac. Mail-in donations should be directed to our regional mail-processing hub at:
