Fond du Lac Football – Let’s Tackle Cancer Together Night
The Fond du Lac Cardinals will turn their football game against Neenah Friday night, October 2, 2026, into an opportunity to raise awareness of cancer and support cancer care in the community.
The game at National Exchange Bank Field begins at 7 p.m. and is part of “Tackle Cancer Together Night,” an effort started by Fond du Lac High School junior football player Justin Kraus.
Kraus was inspired by cancer’s impact on his own family and by the experiences of his teammates, including the recent death of Fondy senior Brenna Slavik.
Fans will receive battery-operated candles and colored stickers representing different types of cancer, followed by a statement and moment of reflection before the National Anthem.
Cardinals players will also wear sleeves or socks representing the type of cancer that has affected them or someone they love.
Football players from the seventh-, eighth- and freshman-level teams will collect monetary donations following the first and third quarters, with all proceeds going to the SSM Health Cancer Center in Fond du Lac.
