Fond du Lac groups look to add Christmas tree to Veterans Park

A new holiday tradition could be taking shape in downtown Fond du Lac.

The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership and Fond du Lac County Veterans Service Office are raising money for a 20-foot illuminated Christmas tree in Veterans Park.

Organizers envision the tree becoming an annual gathering place for families and a way to honor military veterans during the holiday season.

The project is expected to cost just over 17-thousand dollars. So far, more than 12-thousand dollars has been raised, leaving additional fundraising needed to reach the goal.
