Fond du Lac household hazardous waste collection set for Thursday

Fond du Lac residents have an opportunity to get rid of household hazardous waste Thursday, September 10, 2026.

The city’s household hazardous waste collection is being held from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Municipal Service Center on Doty Street.

The service is free, but it’s available to City of Fond du Lac residents only, and you’ll need photo identification.

Items accepted include things like gasoline, oil and automotive fluids, oil-based paints, paint thinner, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs and other products marked toxic, corrosive, combustible, poisonous, flammable or dangerous.

Propane cylinders, ammunition, explosives, medical waste, radioactive materials and commercial waste will not be accepted.

Latex paint also is not considered hazardous waste and will not be accepted.

During the drop off, residents will need to stay in their vehicles. Have the materials loaded in the trunk or in the back of a pickup so workers can retrieve them without entering the vehicle.
