Fond du Lac man charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography

On October 1, 2025, detectives and officers with the City of Fond du Lac Police Department executed a search warrant regarding an internet crimes against children claim, at a residence located at 299 Superior Street in the City of Fond du Lac.

During the execution of the warrant, law enforcement made contact with the resident, Jeffrey J. Riggs (DOB: 10/12/1959). Multiple electronic devices were seized from the residence for forensic examination.

In the weeks following the search, detectives conducted extensive forensic analyses of the seized devices. The examinations revealed a significant quantity of suspected child sexual abuse material.

On December 22, 2025, Fond du Lac Police Department officers took Riggs into custody without incident. He was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail and held on ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

On Friday, December 26, 2025, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that Jeffrey J. Riggs made his initial court appearance, after being charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography. $100,000 cash bond was ordered and Riggs faces a maximum possible penalty of up to 250 years of confinement.

District Attorney Toney stated “We will aggressively prosecute anyone that possesses or manufactures child sexual assault material (CSAM) in order to protect children and our community, regardless of the who the defendant is. These horrendous crimes also take a toll on investigators that must review the CSAM to build these cases and we appreciate their dedicated efforts to take these individuals off our streets to protect our children.”

Riggs has a Preliminary Hearing set for February 13.
