Fond du Lac man convicted for 2021 overdose death

Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced Thursday, January 16, 2025, the conviction of 48-year-old Michael J. Kimmons who plead no contest to First Degree Reckless Homicide and was found guilty in a fentanyl overdose death in the City of Fond du Lac.

The overdose occurred January 5, of 2021 after kimmons arranged a sale and brought the victim to get some drugs. The victim was later found at a 7th Street address in the City of Fond du Lac deceased with a phone in his hand. It was that phone that led to Kimmons as detectives found text messages to him from the victem asking to get the drugs to which Kimmons said he could.

A pre-sentence investigation and sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 28.
