Fond du Lac man faces child sex crimes
The U.S. Attorney’s Office has announced that a Fond du Lac man has been federally charged with two counts of Sex Trafficking of a Minor and one count of attempting to use a computer to persuade, induce, and entice a minor into engaging in illegal sexual activity.
26-year-old Ricardo Ortiz is accused of child sex trafficking for incidences which took place in March of this year, while the attempt to have sexual contact with a minor took place on April 8th.
This case came forward as part of the nationwide Project Safe Childhood initiative and was investigated by officers and detectives with the Oshkosh Police Department.
If convicted of any of the three charges he faces, Ortiz would face a minimum of 10 years in prison, with the maximum being a potential life sentence.
He would also have to register as a sex offender for life and pay up to $250,000 in fines.
