Fond du Lac man in custody after attack with a knife
A Fond du Lac man is in custody after what police are calling a domestic situation in which a woman received stab wounds to her hands amongst other injuries.
The incident started around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night, July 29, 2025, when Fond du Lac Police received a call of a situation at 92 Forest Avenue.
When Police arrived they found a 39-year-old Fond du Lac woman in the parking lot of the apartment complex there with several serious lacerations to both hands as well as injuries to her chest, back, and upper legs. The woman stated the 43-year-old man she lives with at that address attacked her with a knife, also hitting her over the head with the butt of the knife, causing it to break.
Believing the man was still inside the apartment complex, police set up a perimeter, and evacuated the building.
While the woman was brought to the hospital for her wounds, City of Fond du Lac Police as well as the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams set up with their armored vehicles, as did K9 units, Crisis Negotiations teams and drone and robot operators.
After several hours, a search warrant was obtained for the mans apartment but it was found he wasn’t there.
At this time the mans vehicle showed up on several Flock license plate reading cameras in the county as well as Dodge County. County Sheriff’s Officers swarmed the area with no luck in finding the man.
At around 2:40 a.m., a Dodge County Officer was behind the suspect vehicle outside of Beaver Dam. The officer followed the man until other officers could get in position and a felony traffic stop was made where the suspect surrendered without incident. He was brought back to Fond du Lac County where he is awaiting charges to be filed against him.
