Fond du Lac man killed in rural Eden crash

A Fond du Lac man is dead after a two vehicle crash in rural Fond du Lac County Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Just after 2 PM, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls of the crash at the intersection of County Highway B and County Highway K, about a mile and a half west of Eden.

In addition to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Eden Fire Department and first responders and Campbellsport ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, units found that the driver of an SUV was traveling eastbound on B and attempted to make a left turn to go northbound on K. The driver of the SUV turned into the path of a westbound dump truck, and the two vehicles collided.

Despite life-saving efforts, the 79-year-old driver of the SUV succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the dump truck, a 67-year-old Fond du Lac man, was evaluated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries. After the initial collision, the dump truck also struck an eastbound cement truck driven by a 61-year-old Van Dyne man. The driver of the cement truck was uninjured.

The intersection was closed for about 4 hours while crews worked the scene. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office continues it’s investigation of the crash.
