Fond du Lac man stabbed with scissors during dispute

On Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 10:21 p.m., the City of Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a disturbance inside a residence in the 100 block of E. 1st Street. While responding, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center was advised that a male may have been stabbed.

Officers set up a perimeter and attempted to have the occupants exit the house. Several individuals exited the residence, however the victim and suspect did not.

Officers confirmed that someone had been stabbed inside and made entry finding a 41-year-old Fond du Lac man with a stab wound. The victim was escorted outside the house where medical care was transferred to the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue. The victim was transported to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his back.

Officers took the 45-year-old Fond du Lac male suspect into custody without further incident.  The suspect was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety and Substantial Battery. A scissors which was involved in the stabbing was located and collected by officers.

Police say alcohol consumption appeared to play a role in this isolated incident. No further details or information has been released at this time.
