Fond du Lac Police and Fire respond to Lakeside Park early Monday for report of vehicle through ice

Fond du Lac Police and Fire/Rescue were at Lakeside Park early this morning looking for a potential suicidal person who’s vehicle was found partially submerged in the water.

At 3:52 a.m., officers received an attempt to locate for the person, and at 4:01, a City of Fond du Lac Police Officer found the vehicle just off Frazier Point on the far west end of Lakeside Park East.

Upon closer inspection, responders found a set of footprints leading away from the vehicle out away from shore on the ice.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene with a thermal imaging drone, and Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue dive teams suited up and deployed a couple inflatable rescue boats. By 4:33, they had found the person in the water.

No other information has been released in the incident.
